Our loving father Lawrence (Larry) Frank Clawson, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on February 10, 2013 at the age of 89. Larry is predeceased by his first wife Lola Rae Clawson in 1963, and his second wife, Terry Clawson in 1989, his mother and father, Lawrence and Grace, and his two older sisters Ellen and Virginia. Larry was born in St. Louis, Missouri in 1923. He grew up in the city of Bell Gardens, California. He joined the Navy in 1941 and received his GED. While in the service he received many certificates and attended many classes and trainings. He served in the military for 22 years; he achieved the rank of Chief Petty Officer at the age of 21. He served in World War II, and in the Korean Conflict. He served on several Aircraft Carriers throughout his career defending his Country and was proud to be part of our US Military. The last two years of his military duty he served as a Navy Recruiter in Concord, CA. He owned and operated Bakers Drive-In in Concord, CA The Bug Clinic in Concord, CA. After retiring, he started a fourth career delivering customized vans to customers and trade shows all over the United States for the ENG Company. He enjoyed flying his plane, cooking, tinkering in his wood shop, hanging out by the pool reading and telling his life stories while enjoying the company of his family and friends. Larry is lovingly remembered by his six children, Leslie Clawson, Lance Clawson, Norman Clawson, Doreen Parker, Darlene Bennett, Kim Kline and husband Wyatt Kline. He will be missed by his grandchildren, Shawn and his wife Monica, Cindy and her husband Tommy Seltmann, Jesse, Kristin, Bobby, Karlie, Danielle and Aroya; his great-grandchildren, Joseph, Caitlin, Harley, Frankie, Cailey, Tiana, Andrew, Cheyenne, Anessia, and Savannah. He also has one great great grandchild due in September 2013. Visitation for Larry will be on Wednesday, February 20th from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Ouimet Bros., Concord Funeral Chapel, 4125 Clayton Road, Concord, CA. A Celebration of his life will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, February 20th at the chapel. He will be laid to rest with full military honors on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Golden Gate National Cemetery, 1300 Sneath Lane, San Bruno, CA.
