Karen (Stout) Geary Obituary
Karen (Stout) Geary
Nov. 6, 1956 Feb. 26, 2013
Resident of Pleasanton
Karen passed away on February 26, 2013 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Born in Oakland, CA on November 6, 1956, to Leonard and Josephine Stout, Karen was an incredibly selfless woman who touched countless lives.
After graduating from Amador Valley High School in 1974 and San Jose State in 1978, Karen spent the majority of her career working in sales and marketing, making numerous lifelong friends along the way. Fighting women's cancers was a cause near and dear to her heart, and she helped raise thousands of dollars for City of Hope by participating in the Walk for Hope every year. Her teams were consistently among the top performers, and her contributions were recognized by City of Hope with a trip to tour their facilities in Los Angeles.
Karen is survived by her husband of 33 years Tom, sons David (Megan) and Kyle (Destinee), grandson Ethan and another grandson due in June, parents Leonard and Josephine Stout, sister Cindy Governor, brother Kevin Stout, her dogs Bayley and Haize, and her loving in-laws, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephew.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to City of Hope or Hope Hospice. Memorial services will be held on March 11 at 10 a.m. at St Augustine Church, 3999 Bernal Ave, Pleasanton, CA 94566. A reception to celebrate her life will immediately follow.
