Marshall Charles Braxton August 24, 1924 - May 2, 2013 Resident of Brentwood, CA Chuck was born August 24, 1924 in the Texas Panhandle to Ebbie and Letha Braxton. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He married Maxine Basque in Riverside CA on February 11, 1946. They have four daughters, Marsha Nichols (Bob), Donna Braxton, Diana Collins (Tim) and Michele Just. They have 8 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren. Chuck lived in California most of his life. Six years ago he and Maxine moved back from living in Oakridge Oregon for 21 years and settled in Brentwood. He missed being able to watch the Willamette River roll past at the end of his yard. Prior to moving to Oregon they lived in Martinez where they raised their daughters. He loved life, people and most of all his family. He loved to talk story with anyone that would listen and he had many stories to tell. He never met a stranger and always had a smile for everyone. He was a hard worker, working many years in the oil refinery until leaving to work as a boilermaker. He retired from the Boilermaker's Union Local 549. Chuck lived a full and happy life. God sent the angels to take him Home on May 2, 2013. He is survived by his wife, daughters, son in laws, grandchildren, great children, great, great grandchildren, his sister, Arlene Hurt of Twin Falls, Idaho, his sister in laws, many nephews, nieces and friends who will always remember his willingness to guide, help, and protect. He always gave of himself expecting nothing in return. We will all miss him greatly. At his request, there will be no service at this time. A graveside service and celebration of life will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, make a donation to
that would have made him smile.
