Phillip Richard Felix April 25, 1933 - May 5, 2013 Resident of Richmond Phillip Richard Buster Felix died peacefully in his home on May 5, 2013, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Phil is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dolores A. Felix, of Richmond, CA, daughter, Linda Felix-Lambie of Richmond, CA, son and daughter-in-law, Phillip J. and Jennifer Felix, of Randleman, NC, and sister, Teresa Felix of Newark, CA. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Melissa Lambie of Richmond, CA, Melissa Ekas of Asheboro, NC, Nathan MacIntyre of Ashboro, NC, and great-granddaughter, Geraleigh Gigi Knehans. Phil was born in Fresno, CA. His family moved to San Pablo, CA during World War II. Phil graduated from Richmond Union High School in 1951. He worked for Carnation Ice Cream Company, Oakland, CA for 35 years, and then retired from Clover-Stornetta Farms in Petaluma, CA. During his time at Carnation Co., Phil was elected to the Board of Directors of the C.D.I.A. (California Dairy Industries Association), where he eventually served as State President. He helped judge dairies across the state of California, served as a Judge and Photographer for the Dairy Princess Pageant, and established a long-running association with the Oakland As when he organized Dairy Day with the As. Phil loved his family, photography, music, the outdoors, and the Oakland As. He volunteered when his children were in Camp Fire Girls and Boy Scouts, and served on the Dads Club at Woodrow Wilson Elementary School in Richmond, Ca. He also enjoyed photographing and sharing photos of events involving his children and grandchildren. A Mass will be celebrated in his honor on Friday, May 17, 2013 at 10:30 AM at St. Pauls Catholic Church, 1845 Church Lane, San Pablo, CA. 510.232.6552 wilsonkratzermortuaries .com
