James "Jimmy" Hyde Jr.
July 16, 1926 - May 17, 2013

Jimmy was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas of Dessie May and Elonzo Hyde. Jimmie's family moved to Tuolumne, California when Jimmy was three months old. He competed eleven years of school before joining the Merchant Marines in 1942. Jimmy was drafted into the Army in May of 1951 at the start of the Korean Conflict. He served on active duty for two years and then transferred to the Ready Reserves where he served until August of 1956. Jimmy joined the Pile Drivers Union and served on and around the San Francisco Bay, retiring in 1972. Jimmy joined the Masonic fraternity in September of 1949. He was a member of Oakland Durant Rockridge Lodge No. 188. Jimmy was active in Aahmes Shrine in Livermore where he was a member of the Novkeps Unit and the Rod and Gun Club.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Nell; one sister, Hazel Brown of Fresno, California; one niece and three nephews; a stepdaughter Rhonda Hendricks and stepson Rocky Cox both of Salt Lake City, Utah.
Please come and join Nell and the family for a Memorial Service commencing at 2:00PM followed by a Celebration of Jimmy's life on Monday, May 27th at the Livermore Shrine Event Center, 170 Lindbergh Avenue. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Shrine Hospitals for Children at the above address. Private Interment.
