Stan Hill passed away Wednesday, May 29 at the tender age of 96. Known affectionately as "Stan the Man," he touched many lives with his gentle spirit and positive outlook on life.
Stan was born in Oakland, CA on February 21, 1917. He graduated from UC Berkeley. Stan was a charter member of Lafayette-Orinda Presbyterian Church and a Rotarian for 40 years. Both were very important to him.
Family was extremely important to Stan. Nothing made him happier than being with his daughter, Lorrie, her husband, Milo, his grandchildren, Tiffany (Mark) and Johnny (Kristin) and their families. He was the proud great-grandfather of Aelyn, Kelsie, Austin, Brayden and Colton.
Stan loved getting together with family. He was a wonderful listener who always wanted to hear what was going on in the lives of his family members, and he was so proud of their achievements.
Stan touched the lives of everyone he met. With his gentle spirit, words of wisdom and beautiful smile, he made the world a better place. Stan is survived by his wife, Marian, his daughter, granddaughter, grandson and five great-grandchildren. His generous loving spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of Stan's life will be held on Thursday, June 6, at 2:00 pm at Lafayette-Orinda Presbyterian Church, 49 Knox Drive, Lafayette. A reception will follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the
