Lloyd Richard Williams, 80, a longtime resident of Pittsburg, California died peacefully in his sleep early morning, on June 30th, 2013 in his home. He was born on July 3rd, 1932, to Pauline and Wilford Williams in Albany, California. On August 15, 1960 he married Lyla Vickmark whom preceded. He was also preceded by his mother, father, older brothers Gerald, Merwin, and twin brother Floyd. He was survived by his six children, Lyle, Perry, Tammy, Gregg, Candis, Susan, and his 14 grandchildren, Alex, Adam, Tory, Ryan, Monique, Christy, Lexianne, Drew, Morgan, Jake, Shayla, Nola, Lilly, and Diego.
After graduating Albany High School in 1950, Lloyd served on a submarine in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict. Upon honorable discharge, he returned to a 46 year career in the grocery/electronics industry, becoming director of purchasing and merchandising for Fry's Food Stores and then Fry's Electronics until retirement. He loved to spend time with his family, collect coins, and attend grandchildren's sports and activities. He loved seeing his grandchildren grow up, and provided an exciting and adventurous home to visit. He enjoyed caring for, and raising birds on his property ranging from geese to canaries. Lloyd was known for his quick wit, his enthusiastic sense of humor, and his willingness to help the people he cared for.
Services will be held July 5th, at 1:30pm at Oakmont Memorial Park, 2099 Reliez Valley Rd, Lafayette, CA
