Cindy Kruse Brown Obituary
On August 28, 2013 we lost our precious Cindy after a courageous 2 year battle with breast cancer. Cindy was in our lives for 54 short years and while our hearts are broken and she will be dearly missed , we take comfort in knowing that she is resting peacefully and is no longer in pain. At the time of her death she was surrounded by her family and passed knowing how much she was loved.
Cindy was born in Houston, Texas and the family moved to Concord, California in July 1966. Cindy graduated from Ygnacio Valley High School in 1976 and had been working at Gemco in Walnut Creek for several years. In December 1976 Cindy started working for Chevron in Concord and had a 19 year career with them. As a child and as an adult Cindy was an avid and talented softball player. She also loved playing Bingo and going to casinos to play the slot machines.
Cindy is survived by her mother Shirley Kruse, sisters Sherry Fowler and Brenda Kruse, brother Jody Kruse and husband Richard Brown. She is also survived by nieces Michelle Fowler (Danny Drago), Lori Pereira, Ashley Nichols and Alicia Drago and nephew Michael Fowler. Cindy was preceded in death by her beloved father Robert Kruse.
Cindy also had many friends who loved her and if there is a bingo hall or casino in heaven you can be sure that she will be there!
There will be a visitation at Oakmont Memorial Park in Lafayette from 5pm to 8pm on Tuesday, September 3, 2013. Funeral services for Cindy will be held at Oakmont in the Redwood Chapel on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at 1:00pm followed by a graveside service.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Sharon Hiner of the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and to Hospice of the East Bay. Memorial donations in Cindy's name can be made to Hospice of the East Bay, 3470 Buskirk Ave., Pleasant Hill, CA 94523
