Resident of Antioch
Longtime Antioch resident Marvin Lee Miles passed away quietly at home on Sept. 14, 2013 following a brief battle with cancer. Born in Virginia on Dec. 16, 1933 to Clifford and Roxie (Swisher) Miles, the family moved to Antioch when Marvin was just 9 years old.
After graduating from Antioch High School in 1951, Marvin went to work at Dow Chemical Company, where he was employed for 12 years before leaving to start his own business. In 1963 Miles Printing was opened, operated by Marvin, his wife Anna, and family friend Beverly (Evans) Maciel.
An avid outdoorsman, Marvin enjoyed traveling and boating and bringing his family together to share in these pursuits. He was also a part of the CA National Guard, as well as a huge fan of the W. Va Mountaineers.
Marvin will be greatly missed by his wife of 61 years, Anna (Fridley) Miles; his three children Vicki (and Leland) Evans, Richard (and Rita) Miles, and Katrina Miles; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and numerous friends and relatives.
A celebration of his life will be held at the Church of the Rock on Walton Lane in Antioch on September 21st at 1:00pm. Donations can be sent to Hospice of East County or to a .
