Camilla Smith Clinite Hill Apr. 19, 1928 - Feb. 8, 2014 Resident of Montclair She was born in Chicago, Illinois, to the Col. and Mrs. Willard Smith. Her mother Marion managed the Chicago Opera Company which imbued Camilla with appreciation of the arts. She traveled extensively with her parents and spoke French fluently. She attended Kent School for Girls in Denver, Colorado and later graduated from the University of Iowa. She was a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority and named beauty queen for the University. She met Richard Clinite a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. They married and had two daughters, Anne and Cynthia. He lost his life as a pilot in the Korean War. As a widow she moved to Carmel, CA with her young daughters to be close to her parents in Pebble Beach. As she was raising her girls she met and married the Rev. David Hill rector of All Saints Episcopal Church in Carmel from 1958-1982. They had two sons, Patrick and Thomas. He passed in 1992. When her children where raised she obtained her nursing degree from Hartnell College in 1972. She moved to Montclair, California and took her nursing seriously at Alta Bates Medical Center from 1977-1996. She made lifelong friends, spent time with her grandchildren, family and loved St. John's Episcopal Church. She was gracious, beautiful and lovely. She was a thoroughbred who would go the extra mile for family and friends. Our lives were full. She was beloved by all. She is survived by her children; Anne (Thomas) Russ, Cynthia Dollar, Patrick (Virginia) Hill, Thomas (Stephanie) Hill and her grandchildren; Andrew, Lauren and Mary Russ, Christopher and Nancy Dollar and Daniel Hill. A memorial service is scheduled for March 22nd at 2pm at St. John's Episcopal Church, 1707 Gouldin Rd Oakland CA, 94611. A reception is to follow.
