Worthington, Marian Marie
Marian Marie Worthington a long time resident of Willows California passed away on December 10, 2014 surrounded by her family after a long courageous fight with cancer. Marian was born MaryAnn Marie LaHaise on April 22, 1936 to Archibald and Emma (DeLorme) LaHaise in Pembina, North Dakota. She was the youngest of 12 children. Her name was changed to Marian Marie Budde when she was adopted by Joseph and Marie Budde in 1940 after her father passed away and her mother was too ill to care for her. Marian married James Quackenbush in 1954 they had three children James, Susan and David. Their marriage ended in 1972. Marian remarried in 1973 to Charles " Charley" Worthington. Marian and Charley owned and operated the Willows Garbage Service in Willows until their retirement in 1990. They loved to dance and in the early years could be found dancing the night away at Tops Restaurant. They also enjoyed traveling in their trailer with family and the Elks RV group, especially to the California coast and Baja. After Charley passed away Marian spent many hours working in her yard with the help of her children. She had a passion for decorating her house and yard for all the holidays and every season. But, the most important thing to Marian was spending time with her family. Marian is survived by her three children James (DiDi) Quackenbush, Susan (Bruce) Smart and David (Diane) Quackenbush; one stepson Jay (Colleen) Worthington; four grandsons Tyler Quackenbush, Dylan Smart, Brandon Quackenbush, Kyle Quackenbush; seven step grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at the Willows Memorial Hall, 525 West Sycamore Street, on January 10, 2015 at 10:30 AM followed by a luncheon. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Enloe Hospice Care, 1390 East Lassen Ave, Chico CA 95973
