Acuna, Valentina  
Valentina Acuna, 89, of Yuba City passed away Jan. 19, 2015. Valentina was born on Oct. 12, 1925 in Los Angeles, Calif. to her parents Emilio and Altagracia Razo of Colusa. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and enjoyed giving a helping hand to family and friends. Valentina was preceded in death by her brothers Felix and Ruben Razo; sisters, Elvira Rivera, Delores Hendrix, Jane Butterfield, and Lupe Ybarra. Valentina was one of 10 children and is survived by her sisters, Edna Lopez of Carson City, Nev., Pat Ybarra of Sacramento, and Peter Razo of Sacramento. She is also survived by her daughter, Gloria Garcia; sons Arnold Garcia, Robert Garcia (Diane), Richard Garcia (Cass), and Alfred Bruggman (Liz); granddaughters, Valerie Logan, Robin and Jenny Garcia, Allyssa and Sara Bruggman, Richarda Camargo; grandsons, Paul Hernandez, Drew Bruggman and Arnold Garcia Jr.; 10 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews; and dear friends. Valentina worked as a LVN and retired from Valley West Hospital in Williams. A rosary will be held on Friday Jan. 30, 2015 at 7 p.m. at the Holycross Chapel, 486 Bridge St., Yuba City, Ca. Funeral Mass will be held on Sat. Jan. 31, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady Lourdes Church, 345 Oak St., Colusa, Ca.

Baggett, Glorinda Sylvia "Gloria"  
Glorinda Sylvia {Gloria} Baggett, 88 passed away peacefully surrounded by family in Vancouver, Wash. on Jan 15 2015. She was born in San Jose Ca on Aug 2 1926 and grew up in San Francisco. She was a Colusa County resident for 48 years. She is survived by her children Dorothy Butler of Yuma Arizona, Dennis Baggett of Waldport Ore, Rosemarie McKoy and Valerie Dodd of Vancouver, Wash. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great -great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and 3 children. A viewing will be held at McNary Moore funeral Services in Colusa Ca on Friday Jan 23 2015 from 5-8pm. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday Jan 24 2015 at 11 am at Charity Baptist church in Colusa followed by graveside service at Colusa Cemetery. Reception will follow. Distler Jenning Eldridge, Saundra Kay  
Dec. 29, 1945, Died Nov. 6, 2014 in Corning, California. Saundra was the mother of Craig Jennings and John Jennings, grandmother of Delanie and John Jr. Jennings. Craig and John live in Washington State. Her previous husband, Mark Eldridge of Salinas, remained a true and supportive friend for Saundra, Craig, and John. Saundra was the youngest of the three Distler children. Her parents, Jack and Nova Distler, deceased, lived many years in Corning. Her older sister Dorothy (Distler) Giboney, Williams of Oroville died many years earlier. Her brother, Luther Distler and his wife Maria Distler live in the Bay Area. Saundra grew up in Chico and graduated from Chico High. She lived many years in Idaho and Spokane, Washington before relocating to Humboldt County. She lived in Red Bluff before settling in Corning in what had been her parent's home. Saundra was an active trusted servant of the AA and NA fellowships. For over 31 years she selflessly helped many individuals who strove to recover from alcohol and drug addictions. A celebration of Saundra's Life will be held Sat. January 24, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the Corning Senior Center, 1015 4th Ave., Corning. A barbecue buffet provided. You many bring a dish to share. Bring photos, memories, and stories to share.

Dommer, Eugene Fred "Gene"  
Eugene (Gene) Fred Dommer passed away January17th, 2015 at his home at the age of 76. He was born on March 19, 1938 in Yuba City. He was a lifelong Colusa County resident. Gene owned and operated his own nursery for many years and was also employed at the Colusa Unified School District, Peachtree Golf Course and Colusa Golf and Country Club before he retired. He was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church and a former member of the Colusa County Fair Board. Gene enjoyed golfing, fishing and gardening. Gene is survived by his loving wife of 28 years MaryEllen Dommer of Colusa, CA. Son; Greg Stegall. Daughters; Allison Larsen, Mary Jane Bone and Keri Cunha. Grandchildren; Kayla, Daniel and Kasi Cunha, Madaline and Conna Bone and numerous Great-Grandchildren. Sisters; Ernestine Goforth, Doris Betke and Shirley Dommer. A celebration of Gene's life will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in Gene's name to the Colusa County branch of F.F.A. or The Colusa County Fair Board Foundation. Porter, James William "Bill"  
James (Bill) William Porter, 81, longtime resident of Ventura and Bakersfield, moved to Orland in 2000. In the short time Bill lived in Orland he developed many wonderful friendships and attended the First Christian Church. Bill proudly served in the U. S. Air Force. He worked for Shell Oil Company for 35 plus years. Bill was an avid sports fan particularly when his grandchildren were involved. Bill is preceded in death by his parents Joe and Rhoda Porter, brother Wallace, sister Betty, and his faithful companion Rocky. Bill is survived by his daughter, Cheryl; son-in-law, Joe Chavez; grandson, Mikell; granddaughter, Karlie; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bill's life was enriched by his love of family and friends. He impacted so many lives with his sweet soul and kind heart. He will be truly missed by all. Funeral will be held at F.D. Sweet & Sons Mortuary, Orland, Friday, January 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Final resting place will be at Graves Cemetery , Orland. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Town and Country Humane Society would be appreciated.

Tirado, Maria Carmen  
Maria Carmen Tirado 84 of Colusa passed away January 18, 2015 at Enloe Medical Center. Carmen was born April 3, 1930 in La Moncada, Guanajuato, Mexico to Espiridion and Rosalia Sanchez. She was a Colusa County resident for 25 years; she was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother and a wonderful mother in-law. She was most happy spending time with her family; she enjoyed gardening, crocheting and reading the Bible. Carmen was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Carmen is survived by her husband Salvador Tirado of Colusa, her children Robert (Yolanda) Tirado, Raquel Tirado, Reyna (Manuel) Ramirez, Rosalia Tirado; 15 Grandchildren, 22 Great Grandchildren. Rest in peace. You will be missed. Visitation will be held from 5-8pm with rosary at 7:00pm on January 29, 2015 at McNary-Moore Chapel 107 5th Street Colusa. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on January 30, 2015 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church 4th and Oak Street Colusa, burial to follow at Colusa Cemetery 1974 Wilson Avenue, Colusa. Weddel Jr., Emery  
Emery Weddel Jr. passed away peacefully at his home in Stonyford California on December 22, 2014 at the age of 86. Memorial Services will be on January 24th, 2015 at the Stonyford Town Hall, located at 239 Market Street, from 1:00 to 4:00. He was preceded in death by his parents Ruby and Emery Weddel and his brother Robert. He is survived by his loving companion June Okland; his brother, Michael Parkinson; sister, Marlene Terrance; six daughters, Kris Nelson (Les), Sandra Recor (Hank) Barbara Rosas (Eric), Renee Ross (Fred), Kim Norman (Robert), Laurie Waters (Dave). He is also survived by an over abundance of grand, great grand, and great, great grandchildren. Emery loved storytelling, and his joy of life showed in his infectious smile. He worked in farming most of his life and after retirement, he enjoyed traveling with June in their motor home.

Wetherbee (Heise), Mildred  
Mildred Wetherbee (Heise) Passed Away on January 18, 2015 She is survived by daughter, Cathy Wetherbee, and siblings, Leo Heise, Virgil Heise, and Virginia Stewart. Preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Wetherbee, daughters, Linda Jewett and Janice Gregson and her brother, W.F. "Bud" Heise. Millie spent her childhood on the plains of North Dakota, the lush green land of Oregon, and on the well loved family farm in Orland, California. Although she spent her adult life in Sacramento, she left part of her heart in Orland. She spent many hours joyfully cooking in her kitchen, to the delight of everyone in the family. She learned to preserve and can food as a child and went on to become a Master Food Preserver with the UC Cooperative Extension. We all love and will miss her pomegranate jelly, dill pickles, and canned tomatoes. She also found great joy in being outside working in her beautiful vegetable and flower garden. The flowers just won't be as bright without her tilling love into the soil. Friends and family are invited to join in a celebration of her life on January 31st, 1pm at the Shepard Garden and Arts Center, McKinley Park, 3330 McKinley Blvd, Sacramento.

Winslow, Corey Neil "Captain"  
Corey Neil Winslow, 24, was born in Chico, California on May 29, 1990 to Gregory and Katherine Winslow, and was a lifelong resident of Rancho Tehama, Corning, California. He passed away Jan. 17, 2015 in his home surrounded by his family after a lifelong struggle with complications from Tuberous Sclerosis. He is survived by his mother and father; sister, Natalie Cervantes Jones; 3 nieces, Pearla, Liliana, and Raina; 1 nephew, Jessey, all of Rancho Tehama; 5 uncles, Fred and Raymond, both of Corning; as well a Christopher and John, both of California, and David of NH; 5 aunts, Julie of NH, and Elaine, Laurel, Deborah, and Memory, all of California; 6 cousins, Jason, Amanda, and Sara Ann, all of NH; and Joey, Alex, and Reuben, all of California. He is also survived by his great grandmother, Alice Follansbee of New Boston, NH, as well as numerous other relatives in New Hampshire. A private memorial service for Captain was held in Ranch Tehama, attended by close family and friends. "Finally riding the dusty highway in my gypsy cart with Cirro the horse and ridding the waves as captain in my pirate ship. It's a pirate's life for me!" Love you Captain. Until we meet again……
