Nicholas James Clare was born on December 3, 1988 to parents Scott Clare of Maxwell, Calf. and D'Anna Hansen Clare of Codora, Calf.
Nic graduated from Colusa High School in 2007 and continued his education at Sonoma State University, majoring in environmental science and minoring in biology and graduating in 2011.
Nic is survived by his parents, Scott Clare and D'Anna Hansen Clare, brother Scott Clare IV, sister Andreanna Clare, grandparents Scott and Marie Clare of Princeton, and Nana Arlene Hansen of Codora. He is also survived by numerous aunts and uncles, cousins, and many friends. Nic is preceded in death by his brother Kyle Hansen Clare in 2003 and his Poppa, Jim Hansen in 2011.
After graduating from college, Nic worked for Laguna de Santa Rosa Foundation and Baelin inc.out of Sebastopol as a Restoration Technician and at the time of death was teaching English at Gloria English School in Zhongli, Taiwan.
Nic loved sports and participated in them all. He played Little League baseball and Colusa youth football, and in high school he continued to play baseball and football. He especially loved fly-fishing with his father and being at his cabin with family and friends. Nic loved playing football with his brothers and everybody else who would turn out, rain or shine. He was very fit and active, and he ran many marathons with friends. He also loved his Dallas Cowboys and Oakland A's and attended many baseball games.
Nic had an extraordinary personality and had countless friends. He was such a jokester, and loved joking around with his little sister and was such a great big brother. Nic adored his family and friends and especially loved his Momma, and was always trying to make her laugh. He also loved the big Codora bonfire parties with friends. He loved music and even started writing his own songs. He recently began his "big adventure" teaching English in Taiwan and loved his students as they did him. He felt like a "rock star" over there.
He will be missed terribly by his family and friends. Nic impacted many lives and will never be forgotten. He knew how to make everyone smile and touched many hearts. The family would especially like to thank Jake Cousineau for all his help representing our family in Taiwan during this difficult time.
A celebration of Nic's life will be held on Monday, October 28th at 11:00 am at Saint Bernadette Hall at 1145 Ware Avenue in Colusa. Burial will follow at the Colusa Cemetery.
