A memorial mass will be held for Theodore (Ted) W. LaMusga at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. Ted died Friday, December 7, 2012 at his home.
He was born August 15, 1929 to Theodore and Mary (Diederich) LaMusga in Wahpeton, North Dakota where he received his schooling. He spent 5 years in the Navy and was stationed at Port Leyote and Casablanca, also serving on the USS Hyades in the Atlantic and Mediterranean.
He married Ruth Ruhl in Norfolk, Virginia in 1952 and after being discharged from the Navy in 1953, settled in Coming, Calif. where they owned a business establishment for three years. He then went to work for West Coast Life Insurance Company. During this time he was active in the Corning Chamber of Commerce and Lions Club, serving as President in both organizations. He was also instrumental in helping to bring Pop Warner football to Coming.
In 1972 he became manager for the Chico agency of West Coast Life Insurance and moved to Chico in 1974, operating the agency until his retirement. He continued to work as an independent agent into his 80's. He was a member of Elks Lodge
423 and The Life Underwriters of America. His favorite pastimes were hunting and golf.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth of Chico; two sons, Ted (wife, Anne) and John; and daughter-in-law, Elizabeth; a son-in law, Larry Kozimor of Oakland; five grandchildren, Nathan LaMusga and (wife Tiba) of Irvine, Chase and Shay LaMusga of Chico, Andrew and Jason Kozimor of Oakland and a step- granddaughter, Kera Bartleson of San Luis Obispo.
He was preceded in death by a son, Norman and a daughter, Denise.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Elks Club Foundation for Disabled Children.
