Clifford Williams Obituary

Clifford Arthur "Art" Williams, of Corning, died on Monday, July 16, 2018, in San Marcos, California. Art was born on April 27, 1925, in Paskenta, California, to Clifford and Lola (Whitlock) Williams. He married Mildred Ball on August 30, 1948, in Reno, Nevada. They would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in August. He was a lifelong resident of Tehama County.

In December 1943, he joined the U.S. Army and served until March 11, 1946. He was a Sergeant with the 72nd Chemical Mortar Battalion in the Pacific. Returning home, he was a sheep and cattle rancher. He was President of the Northern California Woolgrower's Association from 1950-1952, as well as the President of the Tehama County Cattlemen's Association from 1972-1973.

Art was a member of the Elks and Mason Clubs. He loved fishing in Crescent City and enjoyed spending time in his garden. He will forever be remembered as always having a smile.

Art is preceded in death by his sisters, Audrey Ampi and Molly Turner. He is survived by his wife, Mildred; a son, Bruce and his wife Pam Williams; and two granddaughters, Janees and Terra Williams.

A burial of cremains will take place at the Paskenta Cemetery at a future date to be announced by the family.
