Edward L. Baker

COSHOCTON: Edward L. Baker, age 83, of Coshocton, Ohio, died Thursday, April 21, 2011, at Coshocton County Memorial Hospital, following a long battle with Parkinson's. He was born on July 18, 1927 in Coshocton County, the son of the late Everett L. and Edna (Green) Baker. In 1953 he married Bonnie Maston who preceded him in death on August 26, 2008.

Edward was a graduate of Plainfield High School in 1946. He was a Past Master of the Plainfield Masonic Lodge #224, and a member of the Plainfield United Methodist Church. Edward was employed at the Coshocton General Electric Company for 40 years prior to his retirement in 1987. Edward and Bonnie loved to travel and they visited all of the continental United States. He spent many happy hours in his work shop crafting beautiful items from wood.

Edward is survived by his son, Ronald L. Baker of Coshocton; one brother, Stanley D. (Jean) Baker; one sister, Linda (James) McNeely of Coshocton; one nephew, David L. Baker of Coshocton; one niece, Debora (Jeffrey) Custer of Jamestown, Ohio; two grandnephews, Christopher M. Custer and Adam S. Custer of Jamestown, Ohio; and one great-grandniece, Sarah J. Custer of Jamestown, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Hazel (Baker) Turvey.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Given-Dawson Funeral Home with Don Dolick officiating. Family and friends will be received one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Frazeysburg Cemetery. Memorial contribution can be made to the Plainfield United Methodist Church 101 Church Street, Plainfield, Ohio 43836.
