Iris Faye Garber
BALTIC: Iris Faye Garber, 73, of Baltic, Ohio, and formerly of CR 93, Fresno, Ohio, passed away at Union Hospital, Dover, Ohio, on December 4, 2012.
She was born on May 21, 1939, the daughter of the late Walter and Edith McNabb. Iris graduated from Roscoe High School, Class of 1957. Along with her husband, David, who was the love of her life, and later with her sons, she was active in maintaining the family farm in Fresno, Ohio, throughout her life. People will remember Iris by her genuine love for her family and friends, and her true caring nature. Iris was a longtime member of Renner's St. Paul United Church of Christ. On June 29, 1958, she married David Lee Garber, who preceded her in death on March 26, 1987.
She is survived by her two sons: Jeff Garber and his fiancée, Robin Mullen of Fresno, Ohio, Todd (Lori) Garber of Fresno, Ohio; grandchildren: Sunni (Brandon) Elson, Davey Garber, Brette and Ryan Garber; sister: Anna Jean Stockum of Arlington, Texas; brother-in-law: Kenneth (Rachel) Garber of Canal Lewisville, Ohio; nieces and nephews: Greg, Randy, and Shelley Stockum of Arlington Texas, Gary Garber and Cindy (Steve) Rine of Port. St. Lucie, Florida, Lynn Garber of Coshocton, Ohio; grand nieces and nephews: Dan and Melissa Garber of Port St. Lucie Florida, and Taylor Stockum of Arlington Texas.
Iris was preceded in death by her sister: Violet McNabb; brothers-in-law, Glenn Stockum, and Russell (Mary) Garber; and her nephew, Terry Garber.
A funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Given Dawson Funeral Home, 186 Park Ave., Coshocton, Ohio, on Monday, December 10, 2012, at 1:30pm, with Rev. Dr. Monte Canfield officiating. Burial will follow in Renner's Church Cemetery. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, December 9, 2012, from 1-4pm, and one hour prior to the funeral on Monday.
