COSHOCTON: Betty Mae Caton, 84, Coshocton, passed away at 5:20 p.m., Saturday, January 22, 2011, at Autumn Health Care Center in Coshocton.
Born May 8, 1926 in Oxford Township, Tuscarawas County, she was the daughter of the late David Earl and Mary Hazel (Hammersley) Roenbaugh.
A graduate of Port Washington High School, her last employment before retiring in 1972 was with Carton's Shoe Store in Coshocton.
On April 13, 1946, she married Dale G. "Red" Caton who preceded her in death September 30, 2002.
She was affiliated with the Otsego Ave. Church of Christ and Betty will be remembered for her sewing and crocheting abilities.
Surviving are two sons, Daniel D. Caton of Topeka, Kansas, Doug (Naomi "Sue") Caton of Zanesville; eight grandchildren, Jennifer (Robert) Jacobs of Coshocton, Brian K. (Tina) Parks of West Lafayette, Kim Ann Caton of Newcomerstown, Heather Caton, Kelly Caton, Daniel Caton, Jr., Tara (Jonah) Painter all of Lawrence, Kansas, Kyle Caton of Topeka, Kansas; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary C. Gardner of Canal Fulton, M. Jean Kilchenman of Dover; and a brother, D.R. Roenbaugh of Topeka, Kansas; several nieces, nephews; and a sister-in-law, Diana Caton of Coshocton.
In addition to her husband; and parents; Betty was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amy Caton; a sister, Dorothy Bliss; and a brother, Earl Roenbaugh, Jr.
A memorial service will be held in the Mausoleum at Coshocton County Memory Gardens at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 29, 2011, with her son, Rev. Douglas Caton and her sister-in-law, Rev. Diana Caton officiating. Interment will follow next to her beloved husband, Dale.
Free Funeral Home, Coshocton assisted the family with arrangements.
