Dorothy Skinner Bechtol

COSHOCTON: Dorothy Skinner Bechtol, passed away at Autumn Health Care ECF on Saturday, January 14, 2012. Dorothy was born to the late Emma and Byron T. Skinner on July 5, 1922 in East Liverpool, Ohio.

She graduated from Chester High School, graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University with a BA degree, graduated from the University of Michigan with a M.A. degree and received a guidance certificate from Akron University. Dorothy taught at Keene High School, Newark High School, and Coshocton High School until 1971 when she became Secretary-Treasurer of Bechtol Lincoln Mercury.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, a life member of Ohio Education and National Education Association, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, belonged to Delta Pi Epsilon, honorary business education, a charter member of the Trirosis club, a member of the Order of Eastern Star and Ladies Shrine club, and a life member of the American University Women.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Charles; daughter Kathleen Bechtol Lewandowski; and son C. Rand Bechtol; one sister, Mary Lou Sample of Hermitage, PA; two grandchildren; and eight nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held in the Chapel of the Given-Dawson Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 1:00PM with Reverend Jonathan Carlisle and Reverend Robert W. Millspaugh officiating.
