WILLS CREEK: George C. Pritchard, 66, of Wills Creek, Ohio, passed away at his residence on December 5, 2012.
He was born in Reese Station, Ohio on April 7, 1946, the son of Zelma (Starkey) Pritchard and the late Cline Pritchard. George was a 1965 graduate of Groveport High School. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving as a Sgt. in Vietnam, Japan, Okinawa, and Korea while working for the United States Postal Service. Returning to the states, George was employed at the Walnut Power Plant and retired after 42 years of service from the Conesville Columbus & Southern Electric Company, where he was supervisor at STP and Scrubbers. George was the owner of the West Lafayette Coin Laundry, was Past Master of Plainfield Masonic Lodge #224, American Legion Post 65, AmVets Post 36, VFW 1330, and Elks Lodge #376. On October 28, 1989 he married Maureen Tumblin Pritchard who survives.
In addition to his mother and wife; George is survived by his daughter, Ashley Pritchard of Athens, Ohio; his son, Joseph Darr of Wills Creek; one brother, John (Janis) Pritchard of Canal Winchester; one sister, Becky (Bob) Cremeans of South Point; and one brother-in-law, Junior Matheny of Atmore, Alabama.
In addition to his father; George is preceded in death by two sisters, Gloria Matheny and Trudy Pritchard.
Funeral services will be held at Conesville United Methodist Church on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at 1:00PM with Reverend Joy Blaney officiating. Burial will follow at Franklin Cemetery where the Coshocton County Veterans Council will perform military honors. Calling hours will be held at Given-Dawson Funeral Home on Saturday, December 8, 2012 from 3:00-6:00PM with a Masonic Service starting at 5:45PM.
