Lawrence "Larry" Taylor

COSHOCTON: Lawrence "Larry" Wayne Taylor, age 63, of Coshocton, passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at his residence. He was born on April 13, 1949, in Ravenna, Ohio, to Wayne and Mary Catherine (Habraken)Taylor.

Larry is a United States Veteran, serving in the Navy from 1971 until 1975. He graduated from Kent State with a Master's degree and worked for Shaw Barton, Pretty Products, and Rockwell in Newark. On April 3, 1971, he married Mary Ellen (Gribble) Taylor.

Larry was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was a member of the Elks, serving as past Exulted Ruler. He enjoyed fishing with his son, brothers, and nephews, playing golf, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Larry is survived by his mother, Mary Catherine Taylor of Kent; wife of 41 years, Mary Ellen Taylor; son, Matt (Tricia) Taylor of Mountain Home, Arkansas; daughter, Megan (Michael) Hemming of Coshocton; three grandchildren, Gianna Taylor, Jacob Taylor, and Payton Hemming; three brothers, Gary (Cathy) Taylor of Wadsworth, Greg (Ginny) Taylor of Cuyahoga Falls, and Doug (Holly) Taylor of Kent; sister, Mary Kay (Tony) Domino of Raleigh, North Carolina; father-in-law, Jim Gribble of Coshocton; sister-in-law, Pam Wheeler of Coshocton; and many nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his father, Wayne; niece and Goddaughter, Maria Domino; niece Quinn Pfeiffer; and mother-in-law, Ellen Gribble.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, August 12, 2012, at Given-Dawson Funeral Home, Coshocton, from 2-5:00 pm and one hour prior to the service on Monday. The Coshocton County Veterans Council will perform a Military Walk Through starting at 4:30 pm, followed by an Elk Service, followed by a Christian Wake Service on Sunday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 13, 2012, at 10:30 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Father William Hritsko officiating. Burial will be held at Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent, Ohio, at 2:30 pm.
