COSHOCTON: Mae Sheppard, 92, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away at Coshocton County Memorial Hospital after a fall on Friday Dec. 21, 2012.

She was born Nov. 13, 1920 in Columbus, the daughter of Henry and Tempest Elliott. Her birth parents were John and Elizabeth Burton. She had made Coshocton and Dresden her home for the last 56 years. She was the former owner & operator of Sheppard's Café in Dresden, and worked at the Longaberger Co. as a receptionist. She attended the First Church of Christ, and was a member of the Coshocton American Legion, and V.F.W. Post #1330.

Mae had three children, surviving are two daughters; June (Don) Allen of West Lafayette, and Susie Carns Lapp of Coshocton. Also surviving are ten grandchildren; Donnie (Connie) Allen, Suzie Allen, Billie (Brian) Allen, Danny (Marti) Allen, Melinda (Greg) Michael, Kim (Mark) Allen, Jackie (David) Carns Crawford, Steve Carns, Kara (Rusty) Sowers Guilliams, and Marci Sowers Shirel, twenty-one great-grandchildren, eleven great-great-grandchildren, a daughter-in-law, Luanna Sowers, a special cousin, Esther Davis, and her beloved dog, "Sara".

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Sheppard, former husband Harold Sowers, a son, Roger Sowers, a grandson, Roger Carns, a granddaughter, Leslie Harris, a great-grandson, Ryan Carns, and a beloved dog, "Yocie".

A private funeral service will be held at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw with Evangelist Sam Dunn officiating. Entombment will follow in Coshocton Co. Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Coshocton County Animal Shelter, 21755 TR 164 Coshocton, 43812, or Four Paws Pet Adoption Center, 504 Main St. Coshocton, OH 43812.
