COSHOCTON: Marjorie Ann (Snyder) Bacon, 76, Millcreek Township, Coshocton greeted her Lord and Savior at 7:10 A.M., Sunday, May 27, 2012, at her home.
Born January 5, 1936 in Conneaut, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Carl D. and Anna C. (Pratt) Snyder.
A 1954 graduate of Conneaut Area Schools, Marjorie and Duane L. Bacon were married on June 5, 1956. She was employed by the former Conneaut Drug Company for three years, drove school bus for Conneaut Area Schools and Guernsey County schools for a total of five years.
Volunteerism was very important to Marjorie where she served 15 years with the American Red Cross in Ashtabula and Guernsey Counties; 23 years as an emergency medical technician in Guernsey and Coshocton Counties. Passing the Ohio Basic Fire Fighters Course Marjorie served on the Pleasant City Volunteer Fire Department in that capacity a number of years as well as on their emergency squad followed by 11 years as an EMT with the West Lafayette Emergency squad.
For 10 years she worked part time at the Keene Post Office and from 1994 to 2007 she spent many happy hours at Keene Elementary School listening to students read.
Marjorie was an avid prayer warrior for all her family and friends, and worshiped at the Chili Crossroads Bible Church.
In addition to her parents and husband, Marjorie was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law Mary Lou and George Schatz, sister Marilyn E. Connor and her only brother Carl D. Snyder, Jr.
Marjorie will be missed by loving family members including two daughters Rachel A. (Fred) Montgomery, Mill Creek Township, Miriam A. Bacon, Coshocton, two sons Aaron L. (Lori) Bacon of Coshocton and Mark L. (Donna) Bacon of Orange, Texas; grandchildren Jennifer and Jason Moore, Dustin (Teri), Noah, Heath, Raychel and Adrienne Bacon; great-grandchildren Hunter, Dakota, Jason, Seth, Elisha, John Thomas, Tyler, Kaylee and Austin; sister-in-law Pat Snyder of Chattanooga, TN, brother-in-law William J. Connor of Colorado, plus step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and a step great-great-grandson, many nieces and nephews, plus many, many friends.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at the Free Funeral Home in Coshocton.
A celebration of Marjorie and Duane's life will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Chili Crossroads Bible Church, County Road 10, Chili with Pastor Neal Dearyan officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to Chili Crossroads Bible Church, 29445 Coshocton County Road 10, Coshocton, OH 43812.
