Shirley Ann (Bice) Kirker, 81, formerly of Warsaw, passed away Wednesday May 8, 2013 at Autumn Healthcare on Otsego Ave. where she had resided since March 2013.
She was born Sept. 9, 1931 in Conesville to the late George and Evelyn (Biby) Bice. She graduated from Conesville High School in 1949. On June 18th of that year, she married Herbert H. Kirker, who preceded her in death on Dec. 26, 2001. She lived in the Warsaw area for over 62 years before moving to Windsorwood Place in Coshocton in 2011. She was a member of the Warsaw United Methodist Church, and retired after 13 years as a teacher's aide at Hopewell School in Coshocton. Shirley enjoyed playing cards and was a member of two card clubs. She loved being the "hostess" to guests in her home as she was a wonderful cook. She also loved working in her garden and feeding and watching the birds.
Shirley is survived by three children; Krisann (Tony) Kirker of Coshocton, Kevin (Kathy) Kirker of Warsaw, and Karen (Jim) Sutherland of Whitby, Ontario Canada, four grandchildren; Kaleena & Kaleesa Spivey, Brian "Butch" Kirker, and Megan Kirker, one great-granddaughter, Andrea Kirker, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Merwin, and a brother, Ernest Bice.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday May 11, 2013 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw with Rev. John Rahter officiating. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery. Calling hours are two hours prior to service time at the funeral home. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
