COSHOCTON: Douglas E. Oberweiser, age 71, of Coshocton, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2014. He was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on November 6, 1942, to the late Gilbert and Edith (Ashbaugh) Oberweiser but grew up in Conneaut Ohio.
Doug served in the United States Navy from 1961-1965. On May 7, 1966, he married Sharon (Spangler) Oberweiser who survives.
Doug was the owner and operator of CP&E Marketing for many years. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church for over 40 years. He enjoyed working, book preservation, vacationing at Lake Erie and spending time with his family.
Along with his wife, Sharon he is survived by his children, Roger (Margaret) Oberweiser of Zionsville, IN, Laura (Kyle) Parker of Sunbury, OH, and Michael (Sandy) Oberweiser of Wilmington, OH; nine grandchildren, Morgan, Graham, Aidan, Ella, Josh, Sydney, Andrew, Brooke, and Paige; and one sister, Elaine Notte of The Villages, FL.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2014, at Given-Dawson Funeral Home, from 2-5:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Given-Dawson Funeral Home on Monday, February 17, 2014, at 11:00 am with Reverend Craig Redecker officiating. A cremation will follow at a later date.
For those who wish, memorial donations may be made in Doug's name to Grace United Methodist Church, New Life Ministries, or the Salvation Army. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
