Frances S. (Walls) Brown-Holmes

PRINCESS ANN, MD: Mother Frances S. (Walls) Brown-Holmes was born on June 24, 1941, in West Chester, Pennsylvania to the late Presiding Elder Clinton and Sr. Mother Mary Walls. She departed this world on August 21, 2014.

Mother Frances was a lifelong member of The Supreme Council of the House of Jacob. She graduated from Avon Grove High School in Pennsylvania. She attended West Chester Community College earning her RN degree.

Her passion was in helping everyone especially children. She served as a member on the Coshocton County School Board, worked at the Coshocton Head Start for 35 plus years and she also worked as a nurse for over 40 years. Mother Frances was awarded Volunteer of the Year for services at Princess Anne Elementary in Maryland. She leaves behind a legacy for generations to come.

Preceding her in death are her parents; step- mother, Sr. Mother, Helen Walls; son, John Paul Brown; daughter, Sister Faye Cornelia Brown; ten sisters; one brother; and several nieces and nephews. She is survived by her husband. Pr. Elder John Holmes whom she married on March 21, 2002; her loving children, Roger (Opal) Brown of Warsaw, OH, James (Alana) Brown of Diana, TX, Robert (Sandy) Brown of Zanesville, OH, Naaman Brown of Coshocton, OH, Mary (Dave Jr.) Knapp of Caldwell, OH, and Anthony (Michele) Brown of Coshocton, OH; her step-children, Sherman (Regina) Holmes of Salisbury, MD and Beth Mayson of Princess Anne, MD; 12 grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; 17 step-great-grandchildren; siblings, George Clinton Walls Jr., Phillip Walls Sr. Sr. Mother Consuelo Walls Heard, Mona Lisa Slack, Adv. Pr. Elder James Walls, and Brother Walter Walls; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mother Frances also leaves behind special friends, Sr. Mother Arenthea Brady, Mrs. Helen Wright, and Ann Stubbs.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 29, 2014, from 6-8:00 pm at Given-Dawson Funeral Home and one hour prior to the funeral service. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2014, at 11:00 am at The Supreme Council of the House of Jacob.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Frances's name to Mary Knapp, 17045 Glen Slay Road, Caldwell, Ohio 43724.
