COSHOCTON: Loren "Bud" William Dunlevy, age 91, of Coshocton, passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2012. He was born in Fresno on September 9, 1921 to the late William and Anna (Powell) Dunlevy.
Loren graduated from Fresno High School and served in the United States Army where he received four Bronze Stars, the Omaha Medal, the EAME Theater Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal and the Meritorious Service Unit Award. On April 24, 1948, Loren married Betty (Thomson) Dunlevy who survives. After the Army, Loren worked as a drag line operator and retired from Oxford Mining in 1986.
Loren was a member of Roscoe United Methodist Church; enjoyed woodworking, drawing, gardening, playing the harmonica, and playing music with Cliff Hardesty.
Along with his wife Betty, Loren is survived by his three children, William "Bill" (Ellen) Dunlevy, Brenda (George "Fred") Crouso, and Rebecca (Rodney) Dobson; six grandchildren, Joshua (Lorie) Dunlevy, Heather (Tim) Wilson, Ashley (John) Jordan, Eric Dobson, Kyle (Michelle) Dobson, and Chelsea Dobson; nine great-grandchildren, Lucretia Murphy, Courtney Dunlevy, Hannah Dunlevy, Ellie Dunlevy, Samantha Wilson, Sadie Wilson, Peyton Crouso, Wesley McDaniels, and Jazmyn McDaniels; three step great-grandchildren; one step great-great-grandson; niece, Donna Jones; great-nephew, Bobby Jones; and many cousins.
Loren is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Gladys Donley.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at 11:00 am at Given-Dawson Funeral Home, Coshocton with Reverend Steven Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow at Fairfield Cemetery with the Coshocton County Veterans Council preforming military honors. Calling hours will be held on Monday, October 1, 2012, from 5-7:00 pm at the funeral home.
