Pastor Ivan E. "Dove Man" Ford

COSHOCTON: Pastor Ivan E. "Dove Man" Ford, 77, of Coshocton, Ohio, passed away at Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville, Ohio on November 11, 2012.

He was born in Conesville, Ohio on July 30, 1935, the son of the late Lloyd and Gladys (Marquand) Ford. Ivan graduated from Coshocton High School in 1954. On December 29, 1956 he married Eleanor G. Muller who survives.

He worked for General Electric Company for 36 years before he retired in 1992. Ivan was the Visitation Pastor for Gospel Hill Ministry since 1985, and also owned and operated Wings of White Doves from which he retired in 2011 after 11 years of service, and passed his business down to his daughter. He enjoyed many hobbies, including, flying race pigeons, raising flowers, gardening, owner of Rainbow Gardens, and enjoyed sharing Jesus with others.

In addition to his wife Eleanor, Ivan is survived by his three children, Robert L. (Deborah J.) Ford of Fresno, Ohio, Wanda S. (Rob) Latham of Coshocton, Ohio, and Debra L. (Wayne) Lamp of Coshocton, Ohio; special companion, his beloved dog, Andy; five granddaughters, Amber (Kirk) Barros of Canton, Ohio, Tiffany (Gene) Swigert of Coshocton, Ohio, Kimberly (Richie) Markley of Coshocton, Ohio, Tana (Jesse) Fischer of Warsaw, Ohio, and Kori Latham of Coshocton, Ohio; nine great grandchildren; two step-great grandchildren; one brother, Wayne (Edie) Adams of Coshocton, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ivan is preceded in death by his foster parents, Carl and Fern Adams; five brothers, Bob Ford, Gerald Ford, Dean Ford, Lester Ford, and Cecil Adams; and four sisters, Evelyn Branger, Grace Mork, Dorothy Hall, and Esther Gray.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Given-Dawson Funeral Home from 5-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Gospel Hill Ministry at 11am with Evangelist Ronald Davis officiating. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery in Coshocton, Ohio.
