James Maurice Moore, 72, of Conroe passed from this life Friday afternoon September 14, 2012 surrounded by his family and friends.
He was born November 19, 1939 in Palestine, Texas and worked as a butcher for over 27 years and then was employed as a Corrections officer for 10 years before retirement. James enjoyed singing in church, wood working, cooking, men's quartet, traveling, camping, fishing and spending time with his family and wife.
Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Moore; son, Kirk McCameron, and his sister, Grace Mathern.
James (Tip) was survived by his loving wife, Shirley Nellene Moore; sons, Ralph Golding, Rolyn Moore and Ted Kellogg; daughters, Karen Tompkins, Kathy McCameron, Kalyn Kellogg, Liz Moore and Cindy Golding; sister Joy Lynn Moore; nieces, Shellie Figura, Marie Millet, and Donna Patton; grandsons, John Hester, Ryan Moore, Michael Manning, Erich Leeder, Maurice Golding and Jason Myers; granddaughters, Crystal Leeder, Robin Moore, Shannan Moore and Mandy Hester; great grandchildren Taylor Leeder, Riley Hester, Grant Hester and Johnathon Gay; and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday September 17, 2012 at the New Bethlehem Baptist Church with Brother Mike Edmondson Officiating. 14630 Millmac Rd. Conroe, TX. 77303 (936) 264-2112
