Donald Ray Collins, 87, of Conroe, Texas, known to many as "PePa", went home to be with his heavenly Father on February 19, 2013. Born on July 22, 1925 in Batson, Texas, fifth son to Claude and Marguerite Collins, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Rae Henson Collins, four brothers: Claude A. Collins, Henry H. Collins, Joseph P. Collins, and Jack D. Collins, and grandson, Kyle R. Bennett.

Survived by; Daughter, Candace Collins Zibilske and husband, Larry; Son, Randy W. Collins and wife, Charlotte Collins; and Daughter, Donnel Collins Purse; Grandchildren: Carrie Zibilske Brooker and husband, Jamie Brooker; Jonathan Ryan Zibilske; and Jessica N. Collins; Great-grandchildren; Kylie Bennett and Enza Rae Brooker; other family members and friends, Ashley Bennett Sigmund and husband, Ben; Lynsie Argenti; Keith Arnst, BMX extended family and friends.

Early years: Educated and raised in Freer, Texas;

1943: enlisted in Army Air Corps at age 18; combat veteran in B-17 in European Theatre;

1945: while on leave in Sioux City, Iowa met Betty Rae Henson and they married September 1st; 1948-1950: moved to Victoria, Texas;1951 - 1975: lived and worked in Houston area; 1956: joined Bethany Lutheran Church, Houston, where he taught Sunday school and his children received a Christian education;

1975 to present: resided in Conroe area where he worked and helped many children of different ages in all walks of life. Always friendly and outgoing, he had an infectious laugh and the gift to make everyone laugh.

The family would like to thank the many who have reached out with support and love.
