Harold Lynn Messecar, age 92, stepped out of this world on March 25, 2013 in Conroe, Texas.
Harold was born November 15, 1920, in Minnetex Community near Houston, Texas, where his parents Russell Lynn Messecar and Beulah Harris Messecar had a farm and dairy. Harold graduated from Milby High School and Houston Business School preparing him for clerical work in Houston and Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas. He completed his college at Northwestern University. During WWII, he served four years in the U. S. Navy, entering as Yeoman third class and honorably discharged a Lieutenant in the Supply Corps.
In 1945, he married Nancy O'Farrell in Cambridge, Massachusetts. They made their home near Houston, where Harold eventually went into the dairy business. In 1956, Harold moved his family to Montgomery, Texas where he continued to dairy and ranch.
An early booster of the Rural Electric Program, he served a number of years on the Boards of Mid-South Electric Co-op and Montgomery ISD. He was a faithful member of Montgomery United Methodist Church.
Survivors are his wife, Nancy, of 68 years; son David and wife Cathy, and Martha Messecar of Montgomery, Texas; Margaret Drane and husband Ed of Shelbyville, Kentucky; six grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 11:30 a.m., and a remembrance service will be held at Cashner Funeral Home, Conroe, Texas March 28, 2013 at 12:30 p.m. Interment will take place at Garden Park Cemetery in Conroe, Texas. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Montgomery United Methodist Church or the
