Funeral services for John "JD" Roberts will be held Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 3:00pm in Cashner Colonial Chapel, 801 Teas Rd., Conroe, TX. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the same location. JD was born April 1, 1946 in Rosedale, MS to James and Lorene Roberts. He passed away February 24, 2012 in Conroe, TX at the age of 65. JD served as a council member, mayor pro-tem and current seated mayor of the City of Cut and Shoot. He was instrumental in refurbishing the City Park and worked with TXDOT, having the State commit to improving and widening State Hwy 105. JD worked tirelessly on improving the infrastructure of the City of Cut and Shoot in order to increase property values and attract new businesses. JD was a man of strong Christian values and beliefs, holding Bible study sessions at his house. He was very patriotic, caring and family meant the world to him. JD is preceded in death by his mother and father, James and Lorene Roberts, his sister Velma Roberts, half-brother Jimmy Roberts and half-sister Lucille Roberts. JD is survived by his loving Wife of 47 years, Jane Roberts, his sons David Roberts Jr. and Chad Roberts, his grandchildren Tripp Roberts, Raley Roberts, Christine Roberts and Cole Roberts. He is also survived by his brothers, Danny Roberts, Pete Roberts, Gary Roberts and sisters Alice Griffin, Judy Mora and Sandra Anarde.
