In Loving Memory of James L. Lawson, 72, of Conroe, Texas who passed away on May 18, 2013 at his home surrounded by loved ones. James was born on March 14, 1941 in Nacogdoches, TX to James and Emmie Lawson and resided in Conroe for most of his life where he raised his family. James proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 2 years and was retired from Pipefitter's Local 211 in Houston. He was the Owner of the popular Ice House "The Waterhole" for many years where he was always willing to lend a helping hand, whether it was to a friend or an acquaintance. James never met a stranger. He was preceded in death by his grandchildren, John and Lori, as well as, his brother, Jerrell. James is survived by his loving family: children, Linda Massey and husband, John, Pat Sunday and Jerrell Thomason, Dennis Lawson, Mechail West and husband, Donald, and James L. Lawson, Jr. and wife, Shelley; brother, Lonnie Glyn Lawson and wife, Debbie; grandchildren, James, Hellena, Mechelle, Jennifer, Amy, Timothy, Luke, Mark, Amanda and Matthew; 21 dear great grandchildren. Many other caring relatives and friends also survive. James was a loving and kind father, brother, Grandpa and friend who will be dearly missed. A Remembrance gathering will be held at a later date in honor of him.
