Buddy was born on August 9, 1930 in Ridge, Texas and passed away on July 18, 2013 in Oak Ridge North, Texas. Dorothy was born on December 18, 1931 in Groveton, Texas and passed away on July 20, 2013 in Oak Ridge North, Texas. They were inseparable in life, nor could they be separated by death, as Buddy and Dorothy passed away within days of each other. They were kindred souls who were completely devoted to each other and to their beloved family with generous hearts and will be dearly missed by everyone who knew them.

Buddy and Dorothy were married in Houston on December 28, 1950, and would have celebrated their sixty-third wedding anniversary this year. Dorothy and Buddy made their home in Houston and Oak Ridge North where they raised their family.

Buddy proudly served his country in the Air Force during the Korean War and worked for many years in the mortgage banking and real estate investment industries. At the time, he served as the only civilian on the Houston Police Department Pension Board. He also loved to cook and barbecue for his family and friends - a couple of his specialties were Oysters Bienville and brisket. Dorothy worked in banking for Montgomery County Bank and Chase Bank. She also enjoyed painting, Bunco, and gardening.

Buddy and Dorothy were longtime members of Oak Ridge Baptist Church and more recently attended The Woodlands Christian Church.

Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Mamie Gray and his brother, Louis Grinell Gray. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, John and Annie Turner and six siblings. She is also survived by one brother, Hubert Turner. Together they are survived by their loving family: sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald Stuart Gray and Marie, John Louis Gray and Leah, and Rodney Marshall Gray and Jackie. Grandchildren are Andrew Stuart Gray, Dr. Elizabeth Anne Gray and husband, Kyle Kovel, Elliott Travis Gray and wife, Jacey, Sarah Kathleen Gray, Alexandra Hope Gray, Britt Trione and husband, Jake, and Bre Gray. Great-grandchildren are Aiden Stuart Gray, Oliver Leath Kovel and Adelaide Gray Kovel. Beloved niece, Tonya Dunn and husband, Dr. Bryan Dunn, nephew, Wes Turner, and numerous other dear relatives and friends also survive. A heartfelt thanks to Ted and Maritza Fletcher of The Pines at Oakhurst and Heart to Heart Hospice for all of their kind and loving support.
