Services for Homer Simpson Armstrong, of Willis, were held on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Eubank Cedar Creek Memorial Chapel with Pastor James Ragsdale officiating. Interment followed at King Cemetery. Homer was born on December 1, 1931 in Kemp, Texas to parents Leona (Griggs) and Albert Armstrong and entered eternal rest on November 6, 2013 at the age of 81. Homer was a family man, he loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a very efficient hard worker. Homer had a kind heart and was a honest man. He was strong willed and independent. Homer was proud to tell others "He lived in the woods", where he loved gardening, planting fruit trees, fishing and hunting. Homer attended Flag Lake High School in Seven Points. He served in the United States Army and worked as a Sheriff for Seven Points in the early 70's and then retired from Conroe ISD as a mechanic.
Homer is preceded in death by his parents, wife Viola Byers, sons; Douglas Armstrong, James Simpson Armstrong, granddaughter Elaina Faith West, sister Nettie Armstrong, brothers; Lawson Armstrong and Billy Armstrong.
He is survived by his sons; Kenneth Armstrong and wife Deborah of Willis, James Armstrong and wife Renee of Willis, daughter Sharon West and husband David of Willis, grandchildren; Brittany, Lauren, Leslie, Susan, Tiffany, Justin, great-grandchildren; Violette, Alexis, Kyrie, Jesse, Kaleb, Brandon, Grace, sisters; Jane Leopard of Athens, Wanda Walker of Seven Points, special friend Don Taylor numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members and many friends.
