Bert Rainey, beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away April 4, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in LaPorte, Texas on March 27, 1944 and was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Amelia Jackson (Revels). Survivors include his wife, Shirley Rainey; Sister Rondena Noel (Jackson) and husband James Noel of Katy; children Amber Brock (Rainey) and husband Andrew Brock of The Woodlands; Michele Cabrera of Houston and Bert C Rainey of Mont Belvieu; Grandchildren Alexandra, Joey, Lauren, Elizabeth, Junior, Michael, Andrew, Carl, and Joshua and great grandchildren. He loved fishing, painting, the great outdoors and spending time with family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at Metcalf Funeral Home at 1801 E. White Oak Terrace in Conroe, TX at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 12, 2016.

Shirley, I am so very sorry for your loss. I really only knew Bert through you, but I did speak with him on the phone a couple of times about some construction problems and he was so generous with his time and offers to help. I also cherish the stories you shared over the years like the one when you had a new bed delivered and Bert's trials putting it together, and Bert's first fishing trip to Alaska. What a full life he lead. Bert will be greatly missed.

Miss u brother. Thanks for caring and showing you loved me. Thanks for the time we spent on the baseball field. Giving me,Debbie,and Melody a place to stay after getting out of the army. Going fishing together, teaching me to work on my houses.
