for Lewis Atkinson

Not sure what to say?

While serving with the US Air Force in the late 1960s, Lew was a founding member of the Bolivar Shagnasty Jug Band where he played a mean hose-a-zoo. He is pre-deceased by Ron MacKay the band's harmonica player. Surviving band members Bill Kunkle, Joe Souza, Joe Jachne and Sam Falzone will keep him in their thoughts and remember the many fun times they shared together making music.

Lew was our neighbor but we liked to call him Uncle. From the day we moved into our home, he welcomed us and for the last 2 years has always looked out for us; sharing stories, laughs, advice and the occasional meal. I was always inspired by his love and care for his Mom and for those in need. A great neighbor is hard to come by- especially one as a good as Lew. He will be missed so very, very much! Our sympathy and prayers are with his family.

What a wonderful Man Lew was, He loved God, and served him always. Lew Loved his Mother, visiting her daily, and always spoke so kindly of her, Lew's family meant the world to him. The new babies kept him very busy. I will always remember our prayer group, with Msgr Curran, and taking communion to the sick at Underwood Hospital with Lew, I know God took him straight to Heaven, May you Rest In Peace with God Always. You will be missed Sue and Jim Flood
