David T. Perinchief

David T. Perinchief of Mount Holly, NJ died Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Virtua-Memorial Hospital. He was 70. Son of Harry T. and Elizabeth Marren Perinchief, David was born in Mount Holly and was a lifelong resident there. He was a 1961 graduate of Rancocas Valley Regional High School, where he played football, basketball, and ran track. He was also President of his class senior year and named to the All-State Football Team.
David was a 1965 graduate of Dartmouth College where he played football and was a member of the Sphinx and Tabard. Following his graduation, he received a diploma from McAllister Institute of Mortuary Science in New York City and then joined the family funeral home, Perinchief Chapels as a fifth generation funeral director
. He took over the business after his father Harry's death in 1968.
The greater Mount Holly community meant everything to Dave. He was a member, Past President and Paul Harris Fellow in the Mount Holly Rotary Club
, and a member and Past President of the Burlington County Funeral Directors Association, the BPOE
# 848 Mount Holly, the F & AM #14 Mount Holly, and the LOOM #737. He had also served his community as member and Past President of the Mount Holly Board of Education and later as Member and Past President of the Rancocas Valley Regional High School Board of Education, serving the local schools for over 30 years. At one time he was a member of the Foundation Board to Virtua Memorial Hospital, the Mount Holly Board of Little Falls Savings and Loan, the Board of Mount Holly State Bank, and the Bank of MidJersey.
David was also a lifelong member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church where he served on the Vestry. He was a member of the Burlington Country Club and Deerwood Country Club, where he loved playing golf with his friends. Dave was a very caring and compassionate man. He was honored to serve the families in our area during his 47 years as a funeral director. He loved Rancocas Valley High School and was a big fan of all its sports teams. David loved to tell a good joke or to share a story, especially when he emceed several local fundraisers. David will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and community.
The father of the late Patrick T. Perinchief, David is survived by his wife of 45 years, Maureen; two daughters: Alison Perinchief Reinhard and her husband George of Westampton and Kerri Perinchief Iorfino and her husband Michael of Stamford, CT; a daughter-in-law Jacquelyn Perinchief of Hainesport. He was a proud "Ampa" and loved his 6 grandchildren dearly: David & Delaney Perinchief, Nicholas Iorfino, Hanna, George, and Marren Reinhard. He is also survived by his sister Judith Perinchief of Mount Laurel; his brother Donald and his wife Ann of Bellevue, WA; a niece Lauren; a brother-in-law Paul Hanna and his wife Kate of England; 2 nephews James and Nick; and two cousins: Morris Perinchief and Linda Zevitas.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 AM at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 121 High St., Mount Holly. Interment in the Mount Holly Cemetery will be private. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 4-9 PM at the Perinchief Chapels, 438 High St., Mount Holly. Additional parking and shuttle service will be available in the Sacred Heart Church parking lot.
