Helen A. Bailey (Nelson), age 91, of Woodlynne, fell asleep in death on July 12, 2013.

She was the wife of the late William H. Bailey, and mother of Patricia Engel (husband Helmut), Howard W. Bailey (wife Debbie), and William J. Bailey (wife Clara). She is also survived by 3 sisters (Ann Mortland, Edna Nothem, and Alice Olson), 4 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Helen served during WWII as member of the US Navy Waves, Hospital Corpsman. In1968 she graduated from Pennsauken Vocational School as an LPN, and was a member of Div #9 LPNA. She was a member of the Woodlynne Fire Dept Aux., the Marshall Memorial Methodist Church, Woodlynne Scout Cabin Trustee, Girl Scout leader in Camden County for 35 years, a former member of VFW Aux 1269 of Woodlynne, and a life member of American Legion Post 374, Ruth Altone, Camden County All Women's Post, the Woodlynne PTA, and Clowns of America. Helen had a passion for helping other people; she knitted caps & mittens for Native American Indians and most recently crocheted over 400 colorful hats for children and adults undergoing cancer treatment.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Helen's viewing Friday eve, July 26th from 6-8pm at the Blake-Doyle Funeral Home, 226 Collings Ave, Collingswood. Funeral Services will be at 8pm. Interment will be private for the family at Harleigh Cemetery, Camden, NJ. Memorial contributions can be made in Helen's name to: the - www.cancer.org.
