Dr. Joseph L. Azorsky

February 3, 2014, of Cherry Hill, NJ. Devoted husband for 63 years of Beverly Azorsky. Loving father of Shauna (Emanuel) Greenberg and Gary (Jeanne Markey) Azorsky. Beloved grandfather of Carly, Brett, Andrew and Evan. Son of the late Drs. Abraham and Sarah Azorsky. Dr. Azorsky was born in California, PA. Upon completion of his service as a medic in the United States Army from 1945-1947, Dr. Azorsky attended the University of Pittsburgh. He received his medical degree from Hahnemann Medical College of Philadelphia in 1956 and completed his internship at Albert Einstein Medical Center. A pillar of his community, he was a three time recipient of the American Medical Association Physician Recognition Award. He served as Chairman of the Medical Committee and the Utilization Review Committee of the Jewish Geriatric Home in Cherry Hill, and Chairman of the Utilization Review Committee of Manor Care Convalescent Home. Dr. Azorsky also served on the Board of Directors of the Jewish Geriatric Home, Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey and Beth Jacob Synagogue. He was a longstanding member of the Masons. Dr. Azorsky practiced family medicine for 41 years in Cherry Hill from 1958 until his retirement in 1998. A talented artist, U.S. history and political enthusiast and avid world traveler, Dr. Azorsky will be remembered as a caring family doctor who touched countless lives with his kindness, patience and wisdom. Graveside services will be held Thursday, 2:00 pm at Crescent Memorial Park, Pennsauken, NJ. Shiva will be observed at the longtime residence and office of Dr. Azorsky in Cherry Hill.
