Lawrence David Gleason
Lawrence David Gleason was born on December 5, 1951, to Clifford and Shirley Gleason. He attended and graduated from Cherry Hill West High School in 1970. Through the prayers, support and encouragement from his loving mother Shirley, Lawrence affectionately called "Larry" went on to further his education and successfully graduated with a Bachelors of Art on May 16, 2006 from Rutgers University. A persistent life long learner, Lawrence received his Master's of Social Work on May 22, 1997. Thereafter, Larry worked for Steininger Center in New Jersey, where he was dedicated to helping families overcome the obstacles of social injustice. He worked there until he retired in 2012. After retiring Larry was committed to caring for his mother and father until the Lord saw fit to call him home on May 21, 2013.
Lawrence leaves to mourn his father Clifford Gleason, son Lawrence David Gleason, II and his mother Valerie Jones, one aunt Gertrude Clary, one uncle Harry Scott, special cousin Trudie, several very special cousins, and a host of friends. He was predeceased by his loving mother Shirley Gleason, aunts Florence King, Marguerite Sharp, Martha Benson and Betty Terry; uncles Sylvester Scott and Lawrence Scott.
Although we will miss him, Larry lived a full life and is now rejoicing in the presence of the Lord and his mother.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at 11:00am at Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson. Arrangements by Tunsil Funeral Home.
