Robert J. Hoffman, "Bob", of Sewell, previously of Hammonton, Brigantine and Berlin, NJ peacefully passed away Friday, January 24, 2014 with his family by his side. Bob was aged 90 years.

LEGACY

Born in Berlin, Bob was raised in Philadelphia; Bob proudly served his country during World War II as a Sergeant in the Army-Air Force serving in the South Pacific Theatre of Hiro Jima, New Guinea, Manila, Ie Shima, Okinawa and the Philippines.

Following his Military service, Bob became a tool and die maker and entered into the plastics manufacturing industry where he spent his entire career actively working at starting companies with colleagues where he served as President, until he realized his own dream of a family owned company, Hoffman Precision Plastics in Blackwood where he served as President for nearly 40 years. Bob was an Emeritus Senior Member of the Society of Plastic Engineers since 1957. Bob leaves a professional legacy of knowledge and mentoring in the field that is unsurpassed and will be respected for years to come.

Away from his work, Bob was an avid reader of World War II and German History; and taking his weekend fishing trips. Most of all, Bob enjoyed the time spent with his family especially his granddaughter, Stephanie.

FAMILY

Bob is survived by his loving & devoted daughter Rita Hoffman Lewis; cherished granddaughter, Stephanie Blake Lewis; sister in law, Evelyn Brockmeyer, brother in law, Frank Burke (Phyllis), nieces and nephews; Trish, Gary, Charles, Fran, Jim, Judy, Hugh and Chris; longtime friend Lou Atella and his extended family of employees of Hoffman Precision Plastics. Bob is predeceased by his beloved wife Helen; parents; Frank & Marie, brothers; Frank and John; sisters; Adeline & Marion; sister in law Grace and nephews; Charlie, Frankie and Ed; also predeceased in 2011 by Benji; his constant companion of 14 years.

FAREWELL CEREMONY

Relatives and friends are invited to join Bob's family for his viewing Wednesday evening after 6:30 in the McGUINNESS FUNERAL HOME, 573 Egg Harbor Road, Washington Twp.; where a Time of Remembrance will occur at 8:30PM. A second viewing will occur on Thursday after 8:30 AM in the Funeral Home and his Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 AM in the Church of the Holy Family, 226 Hurffville Road, Washington Twp.
