Roderick Alfred Fishbeck

Passed away on June 23, 2014 in Newark, DE. Born on January 8, 1923 in Fosston, Polk County, Minnesota to parents Alfred and Agnes (Norman) Fishbeck. He grew up on a farm near Fosston and attended public schools there. He enlisted in the US Army Air Forces in December 1942 and served until 1946, mostly in the China Burma India Theatre. Following his discharge in 1946 he moved to Delaware, where he met and married Anne Regina Bastek on August 16, 1947. He resided in Delaware, Pennsylvania and New Jersey when not working overseas. He was an electronics engineer, manager and executive in corporate America and lived and worked in most of the civilized world. He descended from Fishbecks that lived in Colonial times before 1700 as well as three of the Mayflower passengers. He held membership in the Mayflower Society and life membership in the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), The American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Beloved husband of the late Anne. Loving father of Alfred Gerald Fishbeck and his wife Lou Ann Stokes; and the late Michelle Anne Risch. Devoted grandfather of Jessica Anne Risch, Alfred Lane Fishbeck and Alicia Ann Fishbeck. Dear brother of Glenn Fishbeck and Julia Bendickson, Also survived by his son-in-law Lawrence Risch and his wife Sharon and daughter Samantha. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing 9-10am Friday, and to the Funeral Service 10am Friday at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, 1989 Rt. 70 East, Cherry Hill, NJ. Interment St. Stephen's Cemetery, Millburn, NJ
