Ronald F. Noreen

Ronald F. Noreen, of National Park, formerly of Blackwood and Cherry Hill, passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at the age of 80. A graduate of both Tufts and Columbia universities, Ron was a lifelong educator, most notably having been a Professor of Economics at Camden County College for 33 years. After retirement in 2001, Ron kept active as a dedicated volunteer for many organizations including Sacred Heart, Heart of Camden, Habitat for Humanity, and the Battleship New Jersey. Ron helped people directly and indirectly as he achieved the ten gallon status for blood donation. He also contributed with his music. He was active in many string bands including Gloucester City and Sterling. He will be remembered for his many performances in various venues. Ron was a lifelong member of the Masonic Order, a Shriner, and a Korean War
He is survived by his son Cris and wife Colleen of Northfield; daughter Michele and husband Chet of Reno, NV; and companion Irene "Jackie" Pfeifer of National Park.
A memorial service will be held at the National Park Baptist Church at 1:00 this Saturday, Nov. 24. In lieu of flowers, Ron would have appreciated a donation to charity or a good deed done.
