Stanley Peter Sleda

AGE: 99 • Southampton

Stanley Peter Sleda, 99, devoted and loving husband to Elizabeth (nee Baker) Sleda, and beloved father of Carolyn Ellis (David). The youngest of five children of Peter and Francis Sleda; he is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

Stanley retired after 30 years as Chief Warrant Officer in the United States Coast Guard, where he was authorized to wear the Bronze Star on his National Defense Service Medal. He later continued his career with the National Academy of Sciences and the Maritime Propeller Organization. He resided in Leisuretowne, Southampton, where he volunteered and was active in T.O.U.C.H. Stanley was proud to be a 4th Degree with the Knights of Columbus, and was a charter member of the Holy Eucharist council #8733 in Tabernacle, NJ.

Relatives and friends may call on Friday, May 2, 2014, from 10-11AM, at the Church of the Holy Eucharist, 520 Medford Lakes Rd., Tabernacle. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11AM, at the church. Interment with military honors will follow in the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, N. Hanover, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Stanley's memory to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, 520 Medford Lakes Rd., Tabernacle, NJ 08088.
