Thomas E. Bent, 87, of Williamstown, on Friday, October 4, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Camden, formerly of Lindenwold, Tom has lived in Williamstown for 18 years. A revolutionary war descendant, Tom served his country honorably in the US Navy during WWII aboard the USS O'Reilly DE-330 and served 6 years in the US Reserves, he was a member of the National VFW and the Williamstown American Legion. He enjoyed working at the NY Ship Building Corp in Camden for many years where he went on several trial trips including the first nuclear ship built in the United States, the N.S. Savannah and the USS Kitty Hawk. Tom enjoyed bowling, crabbing at the shore with his grandchildren, model trains and playing the mandolin. He carried a sweet tune. Tom was a true American who enjoyed visiting sites throughout the United States.

Beloved husband of Mary Elizabeth Amandelora for 61 years. Devoted father of Mary (Joseph) Mangano, Thomas (Lisa) Bent, Joanne (Paul) Monitzer and Michael (Jody) Bent. Loving grandfather of Joseph, Mary Kate, Timothy, Thomas, Kristin, Sarah, Elisabeth, Paul Jr., Angela, Alicia, Michael and Christopher. Loving great grandfather of 10 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Wednesday from 9:00 - 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Peace Parish / St. Mary's Church, Main St. and Carroll Ave., Williamstown followed by Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. Inurnment with Military Honors at the Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown. Masses in his memory at St. Mary's Church, Williamstown will be appreciated. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. John of God Community Services, 1145 Delsea Drive, Westville Grove, NJ 08093.
