Leland A. Sharp

AGE: 90 • Southampton

Leland A. Sharp of Southampton passed away at Virtua Memorial Hospital on Friday, May 6, 2011. He was 90. Born in Camden, he was a lifetime area resident and veteran of the US Coast Guard during World War II. He retired as a Warranty Officer for RMP Inc. of Ford Motor Company. Leland was a skilled boater, avid handyman, and talented pool player. He was a member of Merchantville Lodge #119 of the Free and Accepted Masons.

He is survived by his loving wife Phyllis of over 60 years; two sons, Dennis Sharp and Kenneth St. John; a daughter, Leslie Sharp; and five grandchildren, Emily Gibson, Lillian McVey, Allison Basile, Ian St. John, and Denise Hegedus.

Funeral service will be held 2 pm, Thursday, at the Perinchief Chapels, 438 High St., Mt. Holly. Interment at the Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery will be held as a private ceremony Friday afternoon at 12:30 pm. Friends and relatives may visit with the family on Thursday from 1 pm until time of service.
