Dorothy Kavanaugh Obituary

Dorothy J. Kavanaugh

AGE: 76 • Bellmawr

Dorothy J. Kavanaugh (nee Koczur), age 76, of Bellmawr, NJ, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2013. Devoted wife of Donald Kavanaugh, Sr. Loving mother of Donald, Jr. (Kimberley), Thomas (Stacey) and Wayne. Caring grandmother of Zachary, Matthew, Ryan, Kyle, Ryan and Danielle. Dear sister of Joseph Koczur (Marge). Also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her loving parents Joseph and Nellie Koczur. Dorothy was born in Manayunk, PA and as a young girl loved to run the hills of Manayunk. It remained home to her heart. She graduated from Roxborough High and went to work at Sears Payroll Dept. until she married. With the birth of her children, Dorothy became a devoted mother making a warm, loving home. When her children entered school, Dorothy began to volunteer her time at Annunciation School to lend a hand in any way that was needed. As her children grew and began to marry, Dorothy opened her arms and made them part of her family, leaving them to feel cherished and loved. As her grandchildren began to arrive, the light in her grew and the love expanded, as she welcomed each one into her family. Dorothy loved to read books and spend time with her family. Dorothy will be remembered by all who have been fortunate enough to have her in their lives as a loving, kind, gentle woman whose door was always open to welcome you in. As our memories of you remain here with us, a part of our hearts went with you. There will be a viewing from 8:30 to 10am Saturday morning at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE. Funeral Service 10am at the funeral home. Interment private. Family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made in Dorothy's memory to St. Jude Children's Research, 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis, TN 38105. God looked around his Garden and found an empty place.
He then looked down upon his earth and saw your loving face.
He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest.
His Garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best.

He knew that you were suffering, he knew you were in pain.
And knew that you would never get well on earth again.

He saw your path was difficult, he closed you tired eyes,
He whispered to you "Peace be Thine" and gave you wings to fly.

When we saw you sleeping so calm and free of pain,
We would not wish you back to earth to suffer once again.

You've left us precious memories, your love will be our guide,
You live on through your children, you're always by our side.

It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you on the day God called you home
