AGE: 74 • Williamstown

Alan Bruce Dennis on Wednesday, December 26, 2012. Age 74. Husband of the late Ruth (nee Zimmerman) Dennis. Brother of Denny Dennis, Ethel Dennis, and the late John Dennis. Nephew of Hap Dennis. Son of the late John Ballinger Cyrus and Helen Alice (nee Denny) Dennis. Also survived by good friend and caregiver Jean M. Lange (husband James) and the love of his life Cody, Angelo, Bruce, and Brandy.

Alan was a long-time resident of Clayton and later Woodbury before moving to Williamstown in 2010. He proudly served in the US Army in Vietnam. He earned his Masters Degree and was working on his doctorate. Alan was an English teacher at Williamstown High School for over 30 years until his retirement in 2003. He was a member of the Sweet Water Gun Club and enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, and gun collecting. Alan liked to go to the opera and loved The Grateful Dead. He enjoyed visiting friends in Florida and was big into his Harley and riding cross country. He was a member of a breakfast club that met every morning and liked to keep in touch with friends from school. Alan was generous in helping others to further their education. Most importantly, Alan loved his dogs!

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Monday, December 31, 2012 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Maple Street, Clayton, NJ 08312. Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
