Brian R. Donofrio, 56, of Atlantic City, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2013, in the loving arms of his wife Sheryl, as the sun rose in the dream house he built with her. Brian was born in Philadelphia, and raised in Somerdale. He built his own insurance agency from the ground up which he successfully ran for over 30 years in Stratford. To his customers, he will always be known as the "Master of Your Car Insurance Disaster." Well known for his "driveway parties", he definitely knew how to have a good time. He loved life, and he really knew how to live it. Brian was a hard worker, loved boating, traveling, and doing just about anything in the sun. He loved to make people laugh: to know Brian is to know his legendary laughter, which could be heard, it seemed, for miles away. He was selfless. He had an unconditional, never-ending love for his wife that will forever be admired by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sheryl, his parents, Roland "Bud" and Doris Donofrio, his closest cousins, Lisa (Jimmy) Hopkins, and Michael "Vinnie" (Kelly) DeFao, whom he viewed as his siblings, his brother Steven (Lori) Donofrio, his godmother and Aunt Arlene DeFao, his Uncle Warren and Aunt Betsy Davenport, as well as many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and a seemingly infinite number of dearest friends and neighbors he considered to be like family.
Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation on Friday evening, August 9, 2013, from 6:30 to 9:30 pm at the Atlantic City Aquarium in Historic Gardner's Basin 800 North New Hampshire Avenue, Atlantic City. On Saturday, August 10, 2013, beginning at 3:30 pm, there will be ceremony in Brian's honor followed by a boat parade and a Celebration of Life at the Atlantic City Aquarium. Arrangements by the Gormley Funeral Home LLC, AC.
