Devoted son of the late Edward McNeil Allen Sr. and the late Edith Louise (nee Foltz) Allen. Loving father of Denise P. Allen (Anthony) of Pine Hill Dawn M. Markiewicz (Jack) of Gloucester City Edward McNeil Allen III of Gloucester City and Thomas E. Allen of Willamstown. Dear brother of the late Bruce Allen and the late Judith Allen. Beloved grandfather of Anthony Eric Jack MacKenzie Kyle Brianna Ashleigh Brandon and Kamryn.
He proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Edward was an active member of American Legion Post 179 in Clayton. He was the Gloucester County Historian from 1999 to 2000. He was a member of the National Rifle Association.
Edward was an electrician and he also worked as a pyrotechnician for firework displays on the 4th of July in Gloucester City Woodbury and towns in Pennsylvania.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend his viewing on Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 pm and Thursday morning from 9 am to 10 am in the McCANN-HEALEY FUNERAL HOME: 851 Monmouth Street (at Brown Street) Gloucester City. Baptist Funeral Service will be 10 am in the funeral home officiated by Pastor John Hill of the First Baptist Church of Gloucester City. Interment will military honors in Locustwood Cemetery Cherry Hill.
